Maintenance work coordinated by the South Zone Subprefecture arrives on Rua Almirante Tamandaré with services expected to continue until Friday - Press Release / South Zone Subprefecture

The South Zone Subprefecture, in conjunction with the Botafogo Local Executive Management (GEL), launched another edition of the Corridors of Excellence Program this Wednesday (9/9) in Flamengo. The action will concentrate teams and services from different municipal bodies along the entire length of Rua Almirante Tamandaré, with an intensive operation planned for three days, until Friday (11/9).

Urban maintenance services will be carried out, such as street cleaning and washing, unclogging drains and sewers, enforcement against illegal parking, tree pruning, public lighting maintenance, and conservation repairs, bringing together various municipal work fronts in the same area.

The initiative involves the integrated work of Comlurb (Rio de Janeiro's municipal cleaning company), the Municipal Secretariat for Conservation, Rioluz (Rio's lighting company), CET-Rio (Rio de Janeiro's traffic engineering company), and the Municipal Guard, with the teams coordinating and the region's needs being monitored by the South Zone Subprefecture.

According to the sub-mayor of the South Zone, Pedro Angelito, the integrated action of municipal agencies also contributes to reducing the disruptions caused by roadworks and speeding up the response to residents' demands:

— By concentrating the services of different agencies in the same location, we can optimize interventions and prevent residents from having to deal with successive operations and road closures at different times. It is a coordinated action that makes the work more efficient and delivers improvements to the population more quickly — emphasized the sub-mayor of the South Zone.

Last week, the program was on Professor Gastão Bahiana Street in Copacabana, providing integrated urban cleaning and maintenance services.

The Corridors of Excellence program schedule already serves different neighborhoods in the South Zone throughout the year. Each week, a specific street receives the services in a concentrated manner, based on requests made by the population through the 1746 Call Center and through monitoring carried out by the South Zone Subprefecture teams.
