Rio City Hall's cultural facilities have special holiday programming

* Holidays at SEA: Educational Activity – Funk Roulette

(Saturday and Sunday – 25th and 26th January, at 01:15pm. Free. Open to the public)

The activity proposes a game based on musicality and physicality. The game will allow the younger generations to get to know some historical subgenres of funk. The participant will also be able to try to discover, through deduction, which hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s and current times will be on the roulette wheel.

* Literary Activities: Reading Point – Summer at the Library

(Tuesday to Saturday, from 11am to 17pm. Until 31/01. Free. Open to the public)

This January, the MAR Library, through its monthly program Ponto de Leitura, will have the theme “Holidays at the Library”. It will be a fun and dynamic space with attractive elements for the whole family.

* Rio Dance Lab Holiday Intensive

(Monday and Sunday, from 9:30 am to 21:30 pm. Until 12/01. 12+ | Check prices at @riodancelab)

This event was conceived and directed by Rodrigo Soninho. It is aimed at amateur dancers, young or old, who are interested in studying Urban Dance Culture, whether just for the sake of appreciation or to join the professional street dance scene. The event is held in person, with classes in different styles, including hip-hop, popping, choreography, jazz funk and heels. The line-up is made up of renowned professionals from the national scene and with international experience, such as Arielle Macedo, Romulo Vlad and Jaqueline Monteiro.

* EcoFeira Ilha – Holiday Special

(18/01, from 11am to 19pm. Free. Open to the public)

The event will offer attractions working on the concepts of sustainability and creativity, with the special participation of Circo do Patatá.

* Holidays at Dicró

Tuesday to Friday, at 14pm. From 21st to 31st January. Free.

Programming for children to enjoy the holidays with games, storytelling, music, dancing, planting workshops, games and much more.

* Holiday Book Club

Special meeting of the Reading Club, bringing together three guest writers: Elon F. Lima, Ana Cristina Moura and Karina Barbosa, mediated by Librarian Jocilene Bicas

* CEPL Summer Camp – Popular and Libertarian Education Collective

(From 21 to 23/01, Tuesday to Thursday, at 13 pm. Free. Ages 6 to 14)

Activity focused on rescuing traditional games and also promoting Popular Education with an environmental and community base.

Balaio Cultural carries out a period of free educational and recreational activities aimed at children and young people.
