– We are very happy to be holding Culturas de Periferia this year. The project has a research and training front that proposes a reflection on cultural management in Brazil today, starting from the perspective of favelas and peripheries and their subjects. In the first edition of the course, last year, we received more than 400 applications. So, the expectation to do it again, now mostly in person, is great – celebrated Isabela Souza, director of Observatório de Favelas.
The course classes will be held in a hybrid format. In-person classes will be held at Arena Carioca Dicró, in Penha, on Mondays, and virtual classes will be held on Saturdays.
The production of a digital publication with the systematization of the study data and the actions undertaken by the project is also planned, which will be made available for download free of charge.
Culturas de Periferia is presented by the Ministry of Tourism. It is sponsored by IBM, Instituto Cultural Vale, Itaú Unibanco, Cyrela, Colgate, MR Mineração and Smart Fit, through the Federal Law of Incentive to Culture.
