Palco Zimbinha, an annex of the Ziembinski Theater, will be inaugurated on Saturday, in Tijuca

The play "Selectives" opens, on Saturday (2/11), the Palco Zimbinha, in Tijuca - Ludmilla Silva/ SMC The Palco Zimbinha, the external annex of the Teatro Municipal Ziembinski, located in Tijuca, in the North Zone, will be inaugurated on Saturday (2/11) at 16 pm. The production chosen for the official opening of the space is “Seletivos”, a theatrical improvisation by the Konga Group, based on the selective collection of waste.
The presentation is free and can also be seen on November 3, 9 and 10, always at 16 pm. The classification is all ages.
In the show, two artists will perform five improvised scenes, each representing a material from the selective collection: plastic, paper, glass, metal and organic matter. Pots in the colors of each item have papers with the names of objects inside, which will be drawn and will serve as inspiration for an improvised scene lasting up to ten minutes.
At the end, a new round of raffles and suggestions for other scenes begins. The presentation is interspersed with music and recycling tips, entertaining and raising awareness among the audience.
Outdoors
The Zimbinha Stage was created during the renovation, modernization and requalification works of the Ziembinski, promoted by the Municipal Department of Culture (SMC), as part of the Culture of Tomorrow project. Measuring 3 x 6 meters, the Zimbinha is intended for outdoor attractions and is located in the square at the side of the theater, which was also revitalized by the SMC.
– The Zimbinha Stage is of fundamental importance to our proposal to extend the performances of Ziembinski, which is a cultural facility in the territory, a large space for socializing, with activities beyond the performance hall. At Zimbinha, we seek to encourage cultural experiences such as poetry readings, rhyming circles, circus acts, plays, rehearsals and workshops, among other manifestations – detailed Luiz Fernando Pinto, the theater’s manager.
The show's producer, André Garcia Alvez, who shares the role with Pedro Garcia Alves, invites the public:
– All families are welcome to come and bring their beach chairs and sarongs to have fun with us!
