The Municipal Department of Culture (SMC) will hold 15 meetings, three virtual and 12 in person, from January 6 to 14. The purpose of the meetings is to publicize the rules and answer questions about the three notices of the Aldir Blanc National Policy (PNAB) for which registration is open. All meetings are free and open to all interested parties, and it is necessary to fill out a form.
The open calls are: “Rio de Escritores”, “Viva o Talento edição Rio Capital Mundial do Livro” and “Feiras Literárias”. Registrations to participate must be formalized until 18 pm on January 31, 2025, through the Electronic Registration Form, the link to which is available on the website Department of Culture. The total investment in the three notices is R$2,3 million, coming from the revenues of almost R$38 million received by the municipality under the Federal Law for the Promotion of Culture, in 2024. These resources were 100% executed by the City of Rio, which stood out for its competence, agility and transparency in the application of the PNAB.

– Viva o Talento Call for Proposals | R$ 700 thousand
Objective: To support projects that promote literary activities, seeking to occupy public spaces, such as municipal libraries, parks and squares, with dynamic cultural activities aimed at the dissemination of Brazilian literature and the promotion of authors from Rio de Janeiro. Literary Activities will be considered to include reading clubs, book circles, dramatized readings, poetry readings, storytelling sessions, lectures, discussion groups and workshops, among others, with the exception of Literary Fairs, which will be covered by a specific Call for Proposals.
Who can participate: Any cultural agent based in the city of Rio de Janeiro, who is: Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI); Legal entity for profit or Non-profit legal entity.
– Literary Fairs Notice | R$ 1 million
Objective: to support projects that encourage reading and promote the value of literature and writing, through the selection of Literary Fairs to be held in Rio de Janeiro. Literary Fairs are understood as: cultural events/projects in various formats and sizes, focused on reading and the formation of new readers, which celebrate literature and bring together authors, publishers, bookstores, readers and other professionals in the area, promoting culture and education.
Who can participate: Any cultural agent based in the city of Rio de Janeiro, who is: Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI); Legal entity for profit or Non-profit legal entity.
– Rio de Janeiro Writers’ Call | R$600
Objective: To finance a project aimed at selecting, activating, training and promoting 70 writers from Rio de Janeiro through a Training Program, with a view to publishing authorial literary works, in different genres, with a circulation of one hundred copies for each writer, in accordance with the National Policy for Living Culture.
Who can participate: Cultural Hubs with legal status, that is, with a CNPJ, as well as non-profit Civil Society Organizations that develop, monitor and articulate cultural activities, in partnership with regional, identity and thematic networks of cultural hubs and other thematic networks, and are not yet certified as a Cultural Hub or Hub by the Ministry of Culture, as long as they meet the requirements for certification in the National Registry.
