ECOSOL CONECTA 2026 brings together more than 200 participants and reinforces its commitment to the Solidarity Economy.

Rio de Janeiro took another step towards strengthening the Solidarity Economy as a public policy. Held this Thursday (13), at Pier Mauá, ECOSOL CONECTA 2026 — Results, Training and Future brought together more than 200 people including collaborators, instructors, partners and participants from the Special Secretariat for Solidarity Economy (SES-Rio).

Throughout the meeting, the department's results were presented, and motivational lectures, training activities, and guidance sessions were held, all aimed at improving the skills of professionals working to strengthen the Solidarity Economy in the city.

The program also marked the consolidation of SES-Rio's guidelines for the coming months. At the end of the meeting, the Special Secretary for Solidarity Economy, Thiago Pereira, read and signed a letter of commitment that, according to him, will guide his administration.

"Solidarity Economy will be the path for us to build, together, a more democratic, inclusive, and sustainable future for our city and our country. We therefore have a bold project, which is to transform the city of Rio de Janeiro into the National Capital of Solidarity Economy," he states.

According to the secretary, the characteristics of Rio de Janeiro create conditions for the city to assume a leading national role in this agenda.

"We believe that Rio has unique conditions to lead this movement. We are a city of more than six million inhabitants, with an economic, cultural, and political dimension of enormous relevance, recognized internationally and with a strong presence of the Solidarity Economy in its territories. It is from this trajectory that we want to take a new step," he concluded.

The event was attended by Eduardo Medeiros, representative of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, who highlighted the importance of building a Solidarity Economy policy from the territories and advancing the national legal framework.

— The Popular and Solidarity Economy was born and grew from the territories, and its strength has propelled it into public policy agendas at the national level. Law 15.068/24 and its Decree 12.784/25 form the legal basis that guides states and municipalities towards joining the National System of Solidarity Economy. The legal framework is a path towards the joint construction of a more solidarity-based future in order to promote a fairer, more democratic, sustainable economy centered on the dignity of human labor — highlighted Medeiros.

In less than a year of operation, SES-Rio structured four programs focused on generating work, income, training, and productive inclusion in communities, favelas, and peripheries of Rio de Janeiro: Rio Cidade Criativa, Agentes Solidários, Impacta Rio, and Circuito Rio EcoSol.

Rio Cidade Criativa offers free training in creative economy and solidarity entrepreneurship, aiming to reach 3.600 people. Agentes Solidários brings public authorities closer to communities, supporting artisans, producers, and cultural workers. Impacta Rio focuses on training and income generation in favelas and peripheral areas, with plans to benefit 22 residents in socially vulnerable areas. The Circuito Rio EcoSol promotes fairs to connect local producers to new markets and value the work of artisans and grassroots entrepreneurs.

ECOSOL CONECTA 2026 concluded its program by reinforcing the proposal to integrate training, public policies, and territorial action to expand the Solidarity Economy in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro.
