City Hall delivers the Carioca Artisan Card, which values ​​the activity in the municipality

On Artisan's Day, this Tuesday (19/3), the City of Rio, through the Secretariat for Economic Solidarity Development (SEDES), presented, in a ceremony at the City Palace, the Carioca Artisan Card. Around 400 professionals registered in the Municipal Registry of Solidarity Economy of Rio de Janeiro (CADSOL) were awarded. The document is a formal recognition of the work and dedication of craft professionals in Rio de Janeiro, which guarantees access to benefits and opportunities through SEDES.

– The card is an identification card so that artisans who work at fairs and on the streets can be easily identified as artisans and that they are registered with the City Hall. It gives access to a series of discounts in stores that sell materials and supplies for crafts. It is an important delivery, today is Artisan's Day. It is a recognition of their work – said the Secretary of Economic Development, Diego Zeidan, who accompanied the registration in several neighborhoods of the city.

The initiative recognizes the contributions of these professionals to the city’s culture and economy and represents an important milestone in supporting and recognizing local artisans. The teamwork that served the neighborhoods played a crucial role in organizing the artisans through CADSOL, ensuring that the delivery of the cards was an efficient and meaningful process after months of work in various locations throughout the city.

– The importance of CADSOL is to know how many of us there are in the city of Rio. Today is Artisan’s Day, the right day for this delivery. Now we will have access to some public policies and this is very good for us. And also when an inspection comes, I will have the card to prove that I am an artisan. It will also be good for when we go to events in other states and to obtain lines of credit – said artisan Heloisa Damasceno, who has been working with crafts for 11 years.

Registration takes place at the Secretariat for Economic Solidarity Development (Rua Ulysses Guimarães, 2nd floor – Cidade Nova), from Tuesday to Friday, from 10 am to 16 pm. This was the first delivery to artisans who were registered until the end of December 2023.
