Research points to positive impact of Web Summit Rio 2025 on business and the innovation ecosystem

A survey conducted by the City of Rio, through the Municipal Secretariat for Economic Development, Riotur and Invest.Rio, during the third edition of Web Summit Rio, revealed that 40% of the people who responded to the survey closed deals during the event, which was held between May 27 and 30, at Riocentro. In addition, almost 80% expanded partnerships for their companies or startups, reinforcing the strategic role of the event in strengthening the environment of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The survey, conducted with around 200 participants, also highlighted that 96% of participants expanded their networking network during the 2025 edition. Another relevant piece of data shows that 46,3% of those present participated in the Web Summit in Rio for the first time and, among them, practically all (97,7%) intend to return in 2026.

The perception of the event's impact on the local ecosystem also stood out: 98,3% of those interviewed believe that Web Summit Rio contributes positively to the development of innovation in Brazil and in the city.

The results reinforce the importance of initiatives that monitor and evaluate the impact of these major events, helping to strengthen public policies and consolidate Rio de Janeiro as a global reference in technology and innovation.
