Rio City Hall launches employability program for people aged 50 and over

There are vacancies for general services assistant, stocker, kitchen assistant and warehouse worker - Disclosure/City Hall The Rio City Hall, through the Secretariat for Healthy Aging and Quality of Life (Semesqv), launched the Employability Program, which offers several job opportunities exclusively for people aged 50 or over. Those hired will receive salaries starting at R$1.512, in addition to benefits such as transportation vouchers and meals on site.
With the aim of promoting inclusion in the job market and valuing the professional experience of this group, the program offers vacancies for the roles of general service assistant, stocker, kitchen assistant, stock clerk, bakery attendant and store inspector. The first to register was Carlos Assumpção Tavares, 63, who highlighted the importance of the initiative.
– I still have a lot of energy to work. I am very confident and hopeful. With my salary, I intend to help my granddaughter – he said.
According to Secretary Felipe Michel, the project seeks to combat ageism in the job market.
– The job market is very cruel to those who reach 50 years of age or older, and these people have a lot to contribute with their experience. We want to act as a middle ground between them and the companies that are willing to count on this workforce – said the secretary.
Interested parties must appear in person at the City Hall headquarters, located at Rua Afonso Cavalcanti, 455 – room 1017, from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 15 pm, to register.
