The Municipal Sports Department opens registration for holiday camps at the Olympic villages.

The Municipal Sports Secretariat of the Rio de Janeiro City Hall opens registration for the holiday camp this Tuesday (July 7th) in all the city's Olympic villages. The activities, which take place annually during the school break, are aimed at children from 4 years old, with options also for adults and seniors. The registration deadline is the 17th.

 

— During school breaks, holiday camps have become an important alternative for keeping children active, practicing sports in a safe and supervised environment, also serving as support for many families. In addition, we provide activities for adults and seniors. There are thousands of places available throughout the city. In January, there were more than 7.500 registered participants, and our expectation is to increase participation in this edition — highlights the Municipal Secretary of Sports, Bruno Ramos.

 

The holiday camp activities will take place between July 21st and 31st, from Tuesday to Friday. Each Olympic village has its own schedule and caters to a specific age group. The program includes sports such as soccer, basketball, and volleyball, as well as recreational activities in the pool, traditional games, treasure hunts, tag, and dodgeball.

 

To register, parents or guardians must go to the sports facility's office with copies of the child's and parent's IDs, and proof of residence. The exception is the Barra Olympic Park, which accepts registrations exclusively online, through a form available on the unit's official Instagram profile. At the Jorginho da SOS Olympic Village in Complexo do Alemão and the Aldo Miccolis Olympic Village in Encantado, the first week of registration will be restricted to enrolled students, opening to the general public only if there are remaining vacancies.
