The idea is to bring together 600 students for this event - Disclosure/City Hall The Mangueira Olympic Village has entered into the Tokyo spirit: the indoor games began on Wednesday (August 25). Competitions will be held until the 08th (Friday) with Olympic sports offered at the facility. The idea is to bring together 27 students, who have been divided into four flags: green, pink, white and yellow. The victory of each of them will be recorded in the final points table, thus indicating the winning team.
The Mangueira Olympic and Paralympic Games even had an official opening, with the playing of the National Anthem and a torch parade. Then, the competitions began, with activities from the sports project with the city government and partners. Among the sports in dispute are soccer, swimming, judo, athletics and basketball.
The main objective of the event is to provide students with the opportunity to experience various sports in a climate of cooperation between the modalities. They will be able to watch other competitions and cheer for the results of members of their flag, creating an atmosphere of friendship, cooperation and, above all, the exchange of sports experiences, in the best possible Olympic atmosphere.
– This initiative is really cool because it is often in the village that these people have their first contact with the sport. And it is a project that really projects future competitors. Gabriel Constantino and Thiago André, who went to Tokyo for athletics, were students at Mangueira. Tamires Morena herself, who before becoming a handball player, started out in athletics at Mangueira. In other words, we are on the right track. Congratulations to the organizers – celebrated secretary Guilherme Schleder.
