“Didi” Olympic Village opens 300 free places for sporting activities

The Waldir Pereira Olympic Village offers a variety of sports options - Disclosure The Waldir Pereira Olympic Village, better known as “Didi”, opened 27 free spots for various sports activities this Tuesday (2/300). To register, interested parties (minors) must present a copy of their ID and CPF or birth certificate, a copy of the guardian’s ID, a copy of proof of residence, a copy of a medical certificate and a copy of a school report at the Village’s office. Adults must bring a copy of their ID and CPF, proof of residence and a copy of a medical certificate.
– At the beginning of the year, we always organize the issue of vacancies in our sports facilities. We open up more space, offer new modalities, schedules and this only reinforces our commitment to bring more and more sports activities to the population of Rio. There are 300 vacancies offered with qualified teachers and with all the safety in the world. Come to Vila – said the Secretary of Sports, Guilherme Schleder.
The modalities with open vacancies are: functional ballet, jazz ballet, charme dance, advanced ballroom dance, hip hop, children's jazz, tap dance, basketball, soccer, handball, swimming, volleyball, capoeira, jiu-jitsu, adapted jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, muay thai, functional, water aerobics, adapted water aerobics, localized, meditation, yoga, stretching, GAP, HIT, jump, psychomotor, chess, beginner chess and advanced chess.
Eighth edition of Mexe Vila
On Tuesday morning, the Olympic Village also organized the eighth edition of Mexe Vila, at Praia do Recreio. Despite the strong sun, around 100 people were present, shaking up Posto 9 with lots of excitement and sports activities such as soccer, karate, stretching, localized gymnastics and floor pilates.
– Mexe Vila is a great opportunity for students to learn new exercises, not to mention that the view of Recreio Beach is beautiful, a great incentive to practice outdoor physical activities. It is important to remember that registrations for the 300 new spots at Vila “Didi” are now open and must be done in person – declared the deputy mayor of Barra, Recreio and Vargens, Raphael Lima.
For the coordinator of the Waldir Pereira Olympic Village, Valnei Faria, Mexe Vila is a unique opportunity for students.
– Doing physical activities outdoors brings a series of benefits to the body and mind. Exercising in nature provides a feeling of well-being, helping to reduce stress and anxiety. In addition, exposure to the sun promotes the production of vitamin D, which is essential for bone health and the immune system. Mexe Vila aims to take the Vila beyond its facilities, providing its students with an experience different from their everyday lives, in addition to promoting to the population the various activities that make up the sports equipment. The first edition was held in 2021 and was so successful that we are already in our eighth edition.
The “Didi” Olympic Village is located at Alfredo Balthazar da Silveira Avenue, 335, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes.
