Olympic Villages reinforce inclusion during Tokyo Paralympics

The events, in the format of Paralympic Games, brought together almost 200 athletes who competed in sports such as track and field and swimming. Even the students' parents were able to participate as mentors.
The equipment also provided sensory experiences for the public, such as riding in wheelchairs, blindfolding to play goalball and playing a game of adapted bocce ball. There were also ballet and artistic gymnastics performances for children and games such as cup and ball to cone relays. Many of the activities were presented as competitions with the aim of motivating each student to be more functional, which further enriched their participation.
