Deadline to join Carioca em Dia and guarantee discounts ends this Wednesday (30)

The deadline to sign up for Carioca em Dia, a Rio de Janeiro City Hall program that offers discounts on IPTU (property tax), ISS (service tax), ITBI (business tax), fines, and fees, ends next Wednesday (July 30th). Taxpayers have only this week to complete the process and secure discounts of up to 7% on fines and interest on municipal debts. The percentages offered in the program vary according to the payment method chosen by the taxpayer.

ISS debts, whether or not registered as active debt, with a taxable event occurring up to December 31, 2024, can be settled through Carioca em Dia. Debts related to IPTU (Property Tax), ITBI (Information Technology) and various fees and fines, such as those related to urban planning and environmental regulations, for example, can also benefit from the program, provided that the debts are already registered as active debt and the amounts to be regularized by taxpayers do not exceed R$10 each.

Guides for payment in cash or installments are available at Carioca em Dia website and at the Active Debt service points of the Attorney General's Office of the Municipality of Rio or ISS, of the Municipal Finance Department.

Anyone who is going to renegotiate debts must pay attention not only to the deadline for joining, but also to paying the installments on time. In the case of payments in cash, joining will only occur after the payment slip has been issued and paid – on the due date. If the taxpayer chooses to pay in installments, joining will occur after the first installment has been paid.
