Residents of Rio de Janeiro have until this Friday (March 6th) to pay the second installment of the 2026 IPTU (Property Tax). On the Carioca Digital platform, you can download and print all monthly payment installments at once, without having to access the website every month. Payment via PIX or direct debit

Taxpayers can pay their IPTU (property tax) via PIX, using a QR code entered into the DARM (Municipal Collection Document), issued on the Carioca Digital Portal. As with other payment methods, tax payments are processed within two business days.

The tax can also be paid by direct debit. This payment method must be requested from the bank where the taxpayer has an account, using the direct debit code available on the IPTU form. The list of banks enabled for direct debit payments is available at website of the Municipal Finance Department.
