The Secretariat for Policies for Women and Care (SPM-Rio) will carry out, on May 02nd, a series of actions aimed at protecting, supporting, and guiding women during Shakira's concert on Copacabana Beach, focusing on combating harassment and gender-based violence.

The initiative will have a specialized support team, comprised of psychologists, social workers, and/or lawyers identified and trained to offer immediate support in cases of harassment or violence. The work includes on-site reception, compassionate care, and emergency referrals when necessary, ensuring a quick and safe response for women.

In addition to in-person assistance, SPM-Rio will also promote an awareness campaign with the distribution of informational materials about the different forms of violence against women and the channels for seeking help, including the dissemination of the website www.mulher.rio, which connects women to the resources and services of the municipality's protection network.

The women who were assisted during the event will also receive follow-up support from the Secretariat's team, being referred to one of the facilities in the SPM-Rio network, ensuring continuity in support, guidance, and access to protection and care services.
