Taxpayers can make payments via PIX using payment slips issued on the Carioca Digital portal - Archive/Rio City Hall The City of Rio, through the Municipal Secretariat of Finance and Planning, begins, this Saturday (1/10), the service of directing Nota Carioca credits to properties that can benefit from a reduction of up to 100% in IPTU 2023. Taxpayers in the city have until October 31 to transfer amounts on the program's website and guarantee discounts for one or more properties, commercial or residential, located in the city of Rio.
Individuals whose CPFs are identified in tax documents issued as of January 1, 2020, may have credits available in the system, provided that the corresponding ISS has been paid by the service provider. The deduction in IPTU 2023 may even reach properties with tax debts, excluding those that only have a TCL (Household Garbage Collection Fee) charge.
The program also allows the amount to be directed to the same property by different CPFs, without the taxpayer needing to be the owner of the benefited property.
This year, approximately R$156 million in Nota Carioca credits are available to taxpayers in the city. To carry out the procedure, citizens must register on Nota Carioca website and indicate the property registration number in the IPTU registry – found on the tax payment slip. To direct amounts, you must have at least R$1,00 accumulated in the system.
Credit validity
Nota Carioca credits are valid until the second year following the year in which they were generated. Therefore, those generated in 2020, approximately R$59 million, will lose their validity on October 31, if they are not used to reduce the IPTU (Property Tax).
