Municipal Force records over 5.400 stops and 731 arrests.

The Elite Division of the Municipal Guard – Municipal Force presented, this Tuesday (June 16), during another CompStat Rio meeting, the results of preventive and visible policing actions carried out in different regions of the city.

The presentation was led by the Secretary of Urban Security, Brenno Carnevale. During the period analyzed, the Municipal Force agents carried out more than 5.400 stops, resulting in 731 arrests. Among the operational results, noteworthy are the seizures and recoveries of 128 cell phones, 125 motorcycles, 19 bicycles, and 15 necklaces, in addition to the seizure of a pistol, five replica firearms, and 32 bladed weapons.

— CompStat has been a fundamental tool for monitoring the results of our actions and guiding the operational planning of the Municipal Force. This constant monitoring of crime hotspots and statistical data ensures increasingly efficient action aligned with the needs of our city — stated the Secretary of Urban Security, Brenno Carnevale.

The Municipal Force teams are operating in the following areas of the city: Rio Bus Station X Gentileza Terminal X Leopoldina Station; Jardim de Alah; Avenida Presidente Vargas X Campo de Santana X Central do Brasil X Cinelândia; Campo Grande (train station X pedestrian walkway); Tijuca (São Francisco Xavier X Afonso Pena); Botafogo, in the perimeter of Rua Lauro Müller X Rua General Severiano X Avenida Venceslau Brás; the area around the Botafogo Metro (including Rua São Clemente, Rua Voluntários da Pátria and cross streets); and the axis of Praia de Botafogo X Rua Marquês de Abrantes, with some streets in the Flamengo neighborhood; the perimeter in Bangu (pedestrian walkway x Bangu Shopping); and Méier Station x Cachambi.
