In Rio Acari, the work took place on 33 meters of wall, where the supporting structures were reinforced - Press Release The Rio de Janeiro City Hall, through the Rio-Águas Foundation, has completed restoration work on the channels of the Acari and Pavuna rivers in the North Zone, and on the São Fernando Community Canal in the West Zone. The improvements were made to the retaining walls and the bottom of one of the canals. The work ensures the flow of water and prevents flooding. The investments total R$ 4,3 million from the municipality.
Rio-Águas has completed structural reinforcement work on part of the retaining wall on the right bank of the Acari River, near Rua Cajatuba, in Honório Gurgel. The work covered 33 meters of the wall, where the supporting structures were reinforced, and 1.341 square meters of the riverbed were restored, improving the safety of the channel. The Rio de Janeiro City Hall invested R$ 1,3 million in these interventions.
Also in the North Zone, work took place on a stretch of the Pavuna River, along Rua Beira Rio. To prevent flooding, part of the collapsed wall underwent repairs along a 75-meter stretch. In addition, 432 square meters of paving and 108 square meters of sidewalk were completed. The interventions represent an investment of R$ 1,9 million.
In Santa Cruz, in the West Zone, the São Fernando Community Canal underwent work to repair part of its retaining wall. 65 meters of the concrete banks were revitalized, and 455 square meters of roads received new pavement. The investment in this project was R$ 1,1 million.
