The Rio de Janeiro City Hall Transition Office held the second session of the workshop on the theme Fiscal Balance, Good Management and Governance on the afternoon of Friday (6/12). The following people participated in the presentation of the current administration's balance sheet and the debate of ideas for the 2025/2028 Strategic Plan: Secretary of Finance and Planning, Andrea Senko; President of Previ-Rio, Melissa Cabral; representatives of the Secretariat of Finance and Planning, Previ-Rio; Subsecretariat of People and Shared Management; and Subsecretariat of Planning and Monitoring of Results (SubPar).

The meeting was held at the Faculty of Mathematics (IMPA Tech), located in Porto Maravalley, in the Porto Maravilha region, where the Transition Office is located. At the beginning of the session, the managers presented results and advances in their areas, achieved between 2021 and 2024. The reform of the municipal employee pension, the expansion of the IPTU payment methods, improvements in public transparency and digital transformation were some of the examples cited as achievements of the municipality in the area of management and planning.

Cross-cutting solutions to improve the population’s quality of life and innovative ideas in the areas of finance, fiscal balance, project management and goals, and good governance practices were part of the discussions. As in other workshops held during this transition period, the mediators used the logic of “design thinking” to come up with new ideas for the development of the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan.

The workshop facilitators challenged the participants, asking the group to come up with ideas that could positively impact the lives of Rio residents. To stimulate creativity, one phrase was common throughout the meeting: “all ideas are welcome!”
