Second day of workshops of the Rio City Hall Transition Office - Fabio Motta/ Rio City Hall The Rio City Hall Transition Office held two Planning Workshops on Thursday (5/12) in the areas of health, education, public planning, social assistance and transportation. The meeting was held at the Faculty of Mathematics (IMPA Tech), located in Porto Maravalley, in the Porto Maravilha region, in the Port Zone.
The first workshop brought together municipal teams to discuss the Longevity, Equity and Humanities axis of the 2025-2028 Strategic Planning and aimed to analyze the goals of the Sustainable Development Plan in the areas of Education, Transportation and Education, in addition to identifying transversal solutions to improve the quality of life of the population.
During the event, results and advances were presented, such as the municipality's evolution in the Basic Education Development Index (Ideb), the resumption of BRTs and the expansion of access to basic services.
The group then discussed ways to advance the work and make Rio a reference in municipal management, with the presence of the Secretary of Health, Daniel Soranz, the Secretary of Education, Renan Ferreirinha, the Secretary of Transportation, Maína Celidonio, and the director of Mobi-Rio, Claudia Secin. The discussions also addressed proposals to expand the population's access to essential services, reduce inequalities in health and education coverage, and create new vacancies and beds.
Civility and Security Workshop
The second workshop was held on Thursday afternoon, this time on the theme of Civility and Security, another thematic axis defined for the transition. Topics such as public order, security and social assistance were discussed during the meeting.
Participants included the Secretaries of Public Order, Brenno Carnevale, and Social Welfare, Adilson Pires, as well as the Inspector General of the Municipal Guard, José Ricardo Soares. Representatives from GM, Civitas, Finance and Planning also participated in the workshop, which discussed topics such as “transversal city” and sought to answer questions such as “what can we create together to improve the lives of citizens and the city?” The objective of the sessions is to bring together City Hall teams to generate ideas and the basis for developing the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan.
The Transition Cabinet
The work of the Transition Office of the new municipal government began on Monday (2/12) and will continue until the end of December. The main objective is to define the goals and guidelines that will be part of the strategic plan for the mandate of Mayor Eduardo Paes and Vice Mayor-elect Eduardo Cavaliere, who will take office on January 1.
The new government's planning aims to ensure efficient municipal management and is comprised of five thematic axes: Fiscal Balance, Good Management and Governance; Civility and Security; Future, Economy and Happiness; Longevity, Equity and Humanities; Infrastructure, Disaster Prevention and Resilience.
