The Rio de Janeiro Municipal Guard (GM-Rio) trained twelve agents from the Rio de Janeiro State Civil Police in Tactical Pre-Hospital Care (APH) this Friday (January 9th). The training took place at the corporation's Teaching Academy, located in São Cristóvão. During the course, participants received instructions focused on providing care in combat environments, such as essential procedures for controlling massive hemorrhages, maintaining airways, treating chest injuries with pneumothorax prevention and hypothermia prevention, according to the MARC1 protocol, as well as workshops on victim extraction in conflict zones.

The goal is to prepare agents to provide a rapid and efficient initial response in emergency situations, contributing to a reduction in fatalities until specialized help arrives.

The instruction was given by municipal guard Adeilson Viana, head of the Instruction Section of the Special Operations Group (GOE). A specialist in pre-hospital care, Viana graduated from the Paraná Civil Police Academy and has extensive experience in the field.

This was the third pre-hospital care training course offered by GM-Rio to professionals from other security forces. In November 2025, the institution had already trained 25 civil police officers in two classes of the same course.

Created in 2004, the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Guard Academy is the only one in Brazil to have its own Training and Development Center. Acting as a corporate university, the Academy promotes professional development and updating activities, as well as exchanges with various institutions, such as municipal guards, Civil and Military Police, Fire Department, prison officers, Armed Forces, Federal Highway Police and the Attorney General's Office of the Municipal Court of Accounts (TCM), among others.
