Teams from the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Guard (GM-Rio) recorded two incidents on Wednesday afternoon (June 17th) in Arpoador, in the South Zone of Rio. The actions took place during routine patrolling in the region.

Municipal guards from the Environmental Defense Group (GDA) and the Operations Directorate (DOP) rescued a 58-year-old Spanish tourist who fell approximately two meters from Pedra do Arpoador. The guards were patrolling the area and heard the tourist's cries. According to the officers, the tourist suffered an injury to his ankle. The Fire Department was called, and the GM-Rio teams helped remove the man from the location. He was then taken to the Miguel Couto Municipal Hospital.

Agents of the The Special Operations Group (GOE) also recovered a cell phone in Garota de Ipanema Park. It was in the possession of a man who was unable to unlock it and could not explain the origin of the device. After being caught in the act, the man was taken to the 14th Police Station (Leblon) to provide clarification.

According to the officers, even with the cell phone locked, message notifications continued to appear on the screen. This detail allowed the team to contact the victim's daughter in Brasília. She provided information to locate the owner, who reported having been robbed the previous day at the same location where the perpetrator was found. The cell phone was recovered and remained in custody at the police station where the case was registered.
