A municipal guard from the Special Traffic Group of the Center and South Zone (GET Centro-Sul) seized a motorcycle that was being driven against the flow of traffic on the reversible lane of Avenida Niemeyer, in São Conrado, in the South Zone, on the morning of Tuesday, the 23rd.
According to the officer, two women were in the vehicle, and the occupants disobeyed the order to stop and drove against traffic. During the escape, they ended up colliding with another vehicle traveling on the road. After the accident, the two abandoned the motorcycle and fled the scene.
The motorcycle was seized and taken to the city's impound lot in downtown Rio. In addition, three fines were issued totaling R$ 880,41.
The fines were issued for driving against traffic on a properly signposted road, driving in a way that endangered other vehicles on the road, and driving a registered vehicle that is not licensed.
