Municipal Guard gives lecture on the Lucas Law to schools in Padre Miguel and Ilha do Governador

Municipal guard Dhionny Da Luz, who is an instructor at the Rio Municipal Guard Teaching Academy (GM-Rio), gave a lecture and instruction on the importance of first aid in schools to teachers at the Curumim School in Padre Miguel, in the West Zone of Rio, earlier this week. This was the in-person stage of the Pre-Hospital Care for Schools course, available on the GM's distance learning (EAD) platform, which is based on the Lucas Law (Federal Law 13.722), aimed at the institution's staff, but which is also open to educational institutions in general.

During the meeting, the GM instructor gave a broad presentation of the federal law. He then demonstrated first aid techniques, using anatomical dolls, for various situations in which the teacher may encounter and have to act in the school environment.

On July 14, approximately 30 teachers from the Rotary Club Municipal Special School, located in Jardim Guanabara, on Ilha do Governador, were visited by an instructor to speak specifically about the importance of learning about Pre-Hospital Care in Schools. The school is dedicated, above all, to the education of children, young people and adults with special needs. The educational institution of the Municipal Department of Education is a reference in inclusive education. During the meeting, there was a demonstration of techniques for helping victims, such as the choking maneuver, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the lateral safety position (PLS).
