Municipal guard arrests accused of attempted embezzlement in Engenho de Dentro

Municipal guards from the Special Operations Group (GOE) arrested a 25-year-old street vendor on Saturday night (3/28) accused of attempted fraud in the area surrounding the Nilton Santos stadium, in Rio's North Zone, during a Coldplay concert. The 36-year-old victim called the officers patrolling the area surrounding the stadium and informed them that his credit card had been cloned after he had purchased cigarettes from the accused. Given the facts, the street vendor and the victim were taken to the 24th Police Precinct (Piedade), where the case was registered under Article 171 of the Penal Code.
