  • Guards assist tourists from São Paulo after domestic violence report at hotel in the South Zone

Municipal guards from the Tourist Support Group (GAT) helped a 50-year-old tourist from São Paulo on Sunday (15/6) after a report of domestic violence in Copacabana, in the South Zone. The guards were patrolling the waterfront and were called by the victim. She asked for help and reported that her partner had physically assaulted her and insulted her in the hotel room where they were staying on Avenida Atlântica.

The officers took the victim to the Women's Police Station (DEAM) in the city center, where a report of bodily harm and injury was filed. The team also accompanied the victim to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) for a forensic examination. After filing the report, they accompanied the victim to the hotel and waited until the suspect left the scene to ensure her safety.
