Municipal guards seize gel weapons and ammunition in downtown Rio

Credit: Disclosure/GM Municipal guards from the 1st Inspectorate (Centro) seized five gel weapons, known as blasters, this Friday (27/12), on Rua Buenos Aires, in downtown Rio. The products were being sold by a street vendor, who fled when the team approached.
In addition to the weapons, the agents also seized a pair of protective glasses, 14 bags of ammunition and half a plastic bottle with loose ammunition. The seized material will be sent to the Rio City Hall warehouse.
In the last two weeks, teams from the Special Operations Group (GOE) also seized four blasters that were being sold by street vendors in downtown Rio and in Tijuca, in the North Zone. One street vendor was detained and taken to the police station during the stops.
