Municipal guards assist Italian tourists after a card machine scam on Arpoador Beach

On Wednesday (August 20), a team from the Municipal Guard's Special Beach Group assisted two Italian tourists who were victims of a card machine scam on Arpoador Beach in Rio's South Zone. A cigarette vendor improperly charged them R$8, and the tourists asked officers patrolling the beach for help. The officers searched the area but did not find the suspect. They took the tourists to the Special Tourism Support Unit (DEAT) in Leblon. The person responsible for the improper charge was identified through the tourist's bank statement.
