Municipal guards and Subem agents work to rescue a dog trapped in a car in Leblon

The City of Rio, through the Municipal Guard and the Subsecretariat of Animal Welfare (Subem), acted this Friday morning, the 18th, in the RESCUE OF A DOG of the Border Collie breed, which was found trapped, for about two hours, inside a car parked on Rua Fadel Fadel, in Leblon, South Zone of Rio.
The municipal guards of the Leblon Public Order Unit were called by citizens who saw the animal trapped inside the vehicle. The agents then went to the location where the car was and contacted the Subsecretariat of Animal Welfare, requesting support for the rescue.
Upon arriving at Rua Fadel Fadel, the guards checked the vehicle's license plate information to try to locate the animal's owner. The officers dispersed the crowd of onlookers, with the support of police officers from the Leblon Presente program, to calm the anger of the residents who were outraged by the animal's situation.
When the Subem team arrived, the department's veterinarian confirmed that the dog was not at risk of death. A locksmith was called and opened the vehicle door, and the rescue could finally be carried out.
The dog's owner arrived shortly after, reporting that he does not live in Rio and had arrived tired from the trip, and had forgotten the animal in the car. The man was taken to the 14th Police Precinct (Leblon), where the case was registered at this time.
