- Municipal guards are being trained to record incidents online
Municipal guards on patrol - Robert Gomes / Disclosure Rio's municipal guards will be able to register occurrences of minor crimes online. This will be possible through an agreement signed between the Municipal Guard (GM-Rio) and the Civil Police, allowing agents to access the Virtual Occurrence System (SOVI) to begin the administrative procedure for preparing the RO.
The Rio Municipal Guard will be the first in the state to benefit from this resource. The pilot for this action will take place in police stations in the South Zone, which account for the largest number of arrests made by the Rio Municipal Guard. In addition to making the guards' work more agile, the measure will help to relieve the burden on police stations. The records will be sent to the police officers, who will analyze and classify each case as a criminal offense.
Yesterday, instructors from the GM-Rio Teaching Academy and guards from the Technological Development Directorate (DDT) participated in a training class at the Civil Police Academy (Acadepol). These professionals will be multipliers for the staff, who will access the registration application via the institutional smartphone.
In Brazil, municipal guards in states such as Minas Gerais, Paraná, São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul also register online.
