The Rio City Hall, through the Municipal Guard, carried out a joint operation on Saturday night, the 26th, with military police officers from the 17th BPM to verify a report of crowding in an event space, called Guanabara Beach Lounge, located at Praia da Guanabara, nº 111, on Ilha do Governador, North Zone of Rio.

Upon arriving at the location, the convoy formed by municipal guards from the 12th Inspectorate (Ilha do Governador) and the PM found that the event reported by neighbors in the region was a wedding party with more than 100 guests and musicians from a samba school drum section, including.

The officers were then met with hostility by the wedding guests, which led to a disturbance between the public and the public security officers. As the owner of the event space was not present at the time, a friend of the groom introduced herself as the person responsible for organizing the party.

With the party interrupted, the guests subsequently left the venue. The woman responsible was notified by the guards and taken to the 37th Police Precinct (Ilha do Governador), where the incident was registered as disturbing the peace.

The Licensing and Inspection Coordination Office informs that it will verify the establishment's documentation and clarifies that events of this type are not authorized to occur in the current reopening phase. In cases like this, the establishment may be fined, closed and have procedures initiated to revoke its license.
