Municipal guards rescue dog from Avenida Francisco Bicalho canal

The dog gave the municipal guards a lot of work, but was removed from the canal - Rio City Hall Municipal guards from the GM-Rio Canine Operations Group (GOC) rescued, on the morning of this Wednesday (27/4), a dog that fell into the canal that crosses Avenida Francisco Bicalho, in the Leopoldina region. The agents were called by a driver who was passing by and heard the animal crying.
The rescue took about an hour, as the dog was very scared and even bit one of the officers. Equipment, such as a rope and a long leash, had to be used to lasso the animal and perform the rescue. After removing the dog from the canal, the officers celebrated greatly. The bitten officer will receive medical care and the dog will be put up for adoption.
The GM-Rio Kennel team works daily on Avenida Francisco Bicalho, carrying out preventive patrols with dogs to promote urban and traffic order in the region, which has a bus stop and a large flow of vehicles. Incidents of assistance to citizens, support in accidents and also arrests are very common in the region.
