Municipal guards rescue dog at risk from viaduct in Santo Cristo

Municipal guards from the Dog Operations Group (GOC) rescued a dog in a risky situation on Sunday (5/3) on the road that gives access to Linha Vermelha and Rua Francisco Eugênio, in Santo Cristo. The team was passing by the location when they saw the dog cornered on the side of the viaduct. They stopped to check on her condition and identified two injuries, in the region of her airways and on her rear, which may have been caused by being run over. If she had remained at the location, the dog could have suffered more serious injuries.

The agents rescued and took the animal to the Jorge Vaitsman veterinary hospital, for veterinary care and subsequent adoption. It is worth noting that abandonment or mistreatment of animals is a crime under federal law no. 14.064/20, which can result in detention.
