Municipal guards from the 11th Inspectorate (Madureira Park) rescued two dogs on Tuesday night, the 15th, that fell into a canal that runs alongside the park, in Madureira, North Zone of Rio.

The agents were at the Inspectorate base when they heard intense barking coming from the canal. When checking what was happening at the location, the guards found two stray dogs that live in Madureira Park.

– These dogs live inside the park and receive our affection. When we heard the intensity of their barking, we imagined that one of them was in danger. They probably fell while playing or chasing another animal – said municipal guard Fernanda dos Santos Jorge.

The guards were able to lasso one dog at a time to hoist them up and remove them from the canal. After the rescue, the dogs showed their gratitude by celebrating with the team from the 11th Municipal Guard Inspectorate, jumping on the agents.
