Municipal guards from the Special Operations Group (GOE) arrested, on the afternoon of this Saturday (8/1), a 61-year-old man in the act of stealing meat valued at R$ 1.201 at a Zona Sul supermarket branch, on Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, in Copacabana.
The teams, which were working on urban security operations in the region, were alerted by an employee of the establishment, who reported the theft. The suspect was located, detained, and taken to the 13th Police Station (Copacabana), where the incident was recorded.
After the incident was reported, the man remained in custody. According to the investigation, he already had several police records for similar crimes.
