- GM-Rio instructors participate in training on Artificial Intelligence in the Army
Agents Wallace Nunes and Gustavo Nascimento, from GM-Rio, participated in the training - Disclosure/GM Municipal guards Wallace Nunes and Gustavo Nascimento, instructors at the Rio Municipal Guard Teaching Academy (GM-Rio), participated in the 27th Conference on Digital Technologies in Education, promoted by the Army Distance Education Center (CEADEx). The meeting took place on June 28 and XNUMX at the military unit's headquarters in Deodoro, in the West Zone, and discussed the challenges of using technologies in the Teaching-Learning process.
The training was aimed at teachers and instructors. Speakers included authorities and experts in the areas of education and technology, such as Major General Paulo Alípio Branco Valença, Director of Military Technical Education (DETMil), and Sandeco Macedo, an expert in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Goiás.
During the two days of training, several topics related to the new configuration of education in the Digital Age were discussed, with special attention to recent technological advances. Among the topics discussed were “Artificial Intelligence and the Teacher of the Future” and “Education Mediated by Digital Technologies”.
There were also debates and training sessions on Artificial Intelligence (AI), which aimed to promote the use of digital technologies in education, provide ongoing training, introduce AI concepts to participants regarding the teaching-learning process and contribute to the professional development of teaching agents who work in the design, management or delivery of courses and internships developed in the Distance Learning (EAD) modality and in the use of digital technologies applied to education.
– The course brought us a lot of good things. We talked about the importance of mastering the dimensional concepts of Artificial Intelligence in a broad way, and about the knowledge of tools that are already available on the market, such as ChatGPT. Learning about these tools was very important. I, personally, had not yet come across ChatGPT. The debates, which highlighted the obstacles and possibilities of using these technologies for digital education, and the practical training were also very valuable. Now we are going to multiply this knowledge. Create a training course and add it to the reality of our institution – highlighted instructor Nunes.
Distance learning at GM-Rio
GM-Rio has had a Corporate Education Portal since 2017, which now includes in-person and blended courses and a Distance Learning (EAD) platform, implemented with resources, design and content developed by the institution's Human Resources Department and the Teaching Academy. GM-Rio has innovated once again with the creation of a virtual learning environment, aligned with the market's talent management and training practices, and is the first municipal security institution in the state of Rio de Janeiro to use this technology.
The Corporate Education Portal uses the Moodle and WordPress systems, which have enabled the creation of an environment that combines ease of assimilation with resources for conducting online classes, such as chats and forums, and allows access from any digital device, such as tablets, cell phones and PCs. In partnership with IplanRio, the portal migrated to the Rio City Hall Datacenter, allowing 8 people to access the system securely and simultaneously, without failures or connection difficulties.
