Renovation and revitalization project for the Teleférico Field, in the Alemão Complex - Reproduction

On Monday (19/5), the Municipal Housing Department (SMH) presented several projects for the Morar Carioca program that will improve the quality of life of residents in communities in the North and West zones. The actions involve everything from urbanization to the construction of leisure areas. The initiatives will benefit around eight thousand residents in four locations.

The residents of Morro do Adeus, in Complexo do Alemão, were introduced to the project to renovate and revitalize the Teleférico Field by the Housing Secretary, Diego Zeidan, and the Deputy Mayor of the Large Complexes, Marlí Peçanha. Urbanization and paving works will be carried out at the site, as well as a space dedicated to leisure. The SMH will build three courts, one for sports and two for footvolley; a children's playground; a common area; a Senior Citizens' Gym; a chapel and a kiosk, among other facilities.

Diego Zeidan also presented SMH's actions at Campo da Vinte, Rua Catuípe, in the Santa Margarida sub-neighborhood, in Cosmos. The initiatives include the renovation of the field through the construction of a leisure area, with multi-sports and beach volleyball courts; a clay court; a futsal court; a children's playground and a Senior Citizens' Academy.

In the Vila Kennedy Linear Park, the department will build synthetic grass and clay soccer fields, a Senior Citizens' Gym, an amphitheater and a boxing ring, as well as a children's playground and digital furniture. The Housing teams will also work on restoring the surrounding façades (graffiti art), installing public lighting in the area and planting trees.

Another important intervention by the SMH is being carried out at Pousada dos Cavalheiros, in Santíssimo. A series of services have begun to be installed to serve residents, such as a water supply network, sewage system, paving, storm drainage, public lighting, leisure areas and landscaping.

Diego Zeidan highlighted the importance of providing well-being to citizens.

– It is increasingly necessary to create an environment and conditions that promote the dignity and inclusion of residents, ensuring access and opportunities for all who live there, consolidating community ties.
