- Rio City Hall renovates housing complexes in the North Zone
The Iapetec complex, in Ramos, has 82 apartment blocks - Alexandre Macieira/City of Rio Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes, Infrastructure Secretary Jessick Trairi, and Rio-Urbe President Rafael Salgueiro attended the start of construction on three projects in the Conjunto Maravilha program in the North Zone on Friday (August 12). With the goal of revitalizing housing units in the city that are suffering from a lack of maintenance and infrastructure, the program will renovate the Iapetec housing complex in Ramos, the Mário Trindade and Juiz Jorge Eliezer Rosa condominiums in Pilares, and eight more housing units located around Praça Mazagão in Guadalupe.
– We are still going to do a lot of work here and improve the infrastructure of this region. We are doing a survey to also bring the Bairro Maravilha program to several streets in the North Zone. It is very important that you, residents, monitor and verify the quality of the work, and then you can demand anything if something is not as planned – stated Mayor Eduardo Paes.
The 42 buildings in the Iapetec de Ramos complex will receive plastering and painting services on the walls, railings and gates. The roofs, gutters and water tanks of the 85 apartment blocks will undergo waterproofing and painting services. The structural repairs of the pillars and canopies of the complex will also be carried out. The project also includes the revitalization of Camaçari Square, which is very popular with residents of the complex. The multi-sports court in the public space will have its floor repaired with new paint on the markings, the fence repaired and a covering screen installed. Rio-Urbe will also install new sports equipment, exercise equipment and toys for children on the site. The street furniture will also be restored.
– The Conjunto Maravilha program is coming to the neighborhoods of Ramos, Guadalupe and Pilares. It includes improvements to low-income housing complexes, renovating facades, repairing roofs and waterproofing water tanks, among other services. In Ramos, we will also revitalize the square, installing equipment for the Senior Citizens’ Academy (ATI), painting the court and renovating the fence – said Infrastructure Secretary Jessick Trairi.
The services provided by Conjunto Maravilha have also reached the Mário Trindade and Juiz Jorge Eliezer Rosa condominiums in Pilares. Located at Rua Ivan de Oliveira Lima, number 45, the Mário Trindade housing complex will receive several improvements, including painting of the walls and facades of the apartment blocks, the administrative building and the storage facilities. The City Hall will also carry out specific repairs to the plastering of the buildings, repave the front sidewalk, expand the sports court, replace the gym equipment and install new toys. The fences on the walls will be painted and the upper reservoirs will be waterproofed and undergo structural repairs.
The facades and walls of the apartment blocks of the Juiz Jorge Eliezer Rosa condominium, at number 80, will also be revitalized with new paint. In addition to the specific repair of the plaster, the railings installed on the walls of the housing unit will receive new paint and the parking area will be paved.
In addition to these condominiums, eight other housing complexes in the area surrounding Praça Mazagão, in Guadalupe, will receive renovation work under the Conjunto Maravilha program. The condominiums São Sebastião, 14 de Outubro, União, Emílio Garrastazu Médici, Residencial Santos Dumont, Mirante do Amazonas, Treze de Maio and 29 de Abril will receive wall and facade painting services, with plaster repairs, and water tanks and upper reservoirs will be painted, including cleaning, structural repairs and waterproofing of surfaces. The roofs, railings and gates of these condominiums will also be repaired and repainted, and the paving of the external sidewalks will be restored.
