City Hall inaugurates urbanization works in Bairro Maravilha in Vila Vintém

Mayor Eduardo Paes, together with the municipal secretary of Infrastructure, Jessick Trairi, and the deputy mayor of Bangu, Robson Gomes, visited Vila Vintém this Sunday (23/6) for the partial inauguration of the works in the Maravilha neighborhood in the region. Eleven streets were revitalized with the installation of drainage, basic sanitation, sidewalks and paving, among them Rua Sika and Travessa do Vaguinho. Work is ongoing on another 25 streets in the Padre Miguel community. More than 41,6 thousand square meters of public area are being reconstructed.

– We came here today to inaugurate this first phase of the Maravilha Neighborhood and to announce that the works will continue on other streets here in Vila Vintém. And we will continue investing in the West Zone, which is my priority. In mid-July, we should begin the works to build a well-maintained, high-quality Child Development Center (EDI) – stated Mayor Eduardo Paes.

Earlier, Eduardo Paes was in the South Zone to announce improvements in Cantão, Ladeira dos Guararapes, Cosme Velho, and then went to the North Zone, where he began work on the landscape and environmental recovery of five squares in Mangueira.

The works in the Maravilha neighborhood in Vila Vintém are being carried out by the Municipal Infrastructure Department, with investments of R$16,4 million.

– With the Maravilha neighborhood in Vila Vintém, we are building all the infrastructure, collecting rainwater, installing the sewage system and delivering water pipes to the homes. We are also taking care of the sidewalks and paving the streets, improving the conditions for all residents. In Bonsucesso and Ramos, the Maravilha neighborhood is well advanced, with several streets already completed with all the infrastructure. In Bonsucesso, we are putting an end to a historic flooding problem – said the municipal secretary of Infrastructure, Jessick Trairi.

Works in the Maravilha neighborhood advance in Bonsucesso and Ramos

Mayor Eduardo Paes also went to the North Zone to monitor the progress of the works in the Maravilha neighborhood in Bonsucesso and Ramos. In Bonsucesso, 18 public spaces are having their infrastructure revitalized, which included the construction of gutters, curbs, sidewalks, as well as asphalt and concrete paving. More than 87,2 square meters of public space are being restored by the municipal government. The total cost is R$40,5 million. In Ramos, 17 streets are being revitalized in an area equivalent to 77,5 square meters. The investment is around R$20 million.

City Hall renovates blocks and squares in Mangueira

In Mangueira, five different locations will undergo interventions for landscape and environmental recovery. The squares in front of the Candelária Association, in front of the José Moreira Silva School and the Campinho School will be covered by the works. Also included are the courts of the Chalé and the Residents' Association, in addition to the Mangueira staircase. The total investment is R$1,4 million, with completion scheduled for three months.

The Residents' Association court will have its protective wall repaired, the multi-sports court restored, and the kitchen and bathroom renovated. Also in the Chalet court, the interventions will restore the kitchen and bathroom, in addition to the multi-sports court being renovated.

Three other squares will be restored. In Praça do Campinho, there will be renovation of street furniture (games table with four benches), new toys for children up to 10 years old, implementation of ATI (Senior Citizens' Gym) and a new layer of clay on the football field.

The square in front of the José Moreira da Silva School will be planted with trees and the grandstand will be restored. For children, in addition to the installation of a hopscotch, there will be replacement toys.

The square in front of the Candelária Association will also be renovated. It will receive street furniture (a concrete bench and a four-seater game table), toys for children up to 10 years of age, ATI (Senior Citizens' Gym) equipment, and the multi-sports court and the wall surrounding the court will be restored.

On the Mangueira staircase, the renovations will restore the steps and the entire structure of the staircase. There will be planting of bushes for the garden, new toys for children aged 5 to 10, installation of street furniture (concrete bench and games table with four seats) and gym equipment.

Rio-Urbe presents a project to revitalize the Cantão field, in Cosme Velho

The Rio City Hall also presented the project for the renovation of the Cantão field, on Ladeira dos Guararapes, in Cosme Velho. The goal is to restore the leisure area and deliver the renovated field to the children and residents of the community in the South Zone. The project by the Municipal Urbanization Company (Rio-Urbe), with support from the Subprefecture of the South Zone and Rioluz, will be put out to tender at the end of July and, subsequently, the works will begin, budgeted at R$790 thousand.

With the City Hall's project, the Cantão field will receive a metal roof, new flooring and fencing. Rio-Urbe teams will repair and paint the walls, walls and existing stands, install new soccer, basketball and volleyball goals, and install new gym equipment. The common area will also receive a new roof and game tables. The slope around the field will receive shotcrete.

To ensure good lighting for the sports and leisure area, Rioluz modernized the lighting on the hill, replacing six lights with LEDs and installing six more streetlights. There are also plans to install four more light points that will make the area even safer for residents and visitors.
