The winner of the bid will have to invest at least R$92 million in Polo Cine Vídeo

The Rio City Hall announced that the company Quanta won the bid to manage the Cine Vídeo Center in Barra da Tijuca for a period of 30 years, with a minimum investment of R$92 million. The name of the new concessionaire for the space was announced in the Official Gazette last week.

The property, located on Avenida Embaixador Abelardo Bueno, already has studios and other support areas. This concession will enable the modernization of the infrastructure of the current studios and the construction of new ones dedicated to the city's audiovisual sector. The entire area that houses the Cine Vídeo Center has approximately 60 m². The concessionaire will need to renovate the existing buildings and build at least eight new studios with an area of ​​600 m² each, in addition to the additional area intended for the installation of stores and other commercial spaces.

During the term of the contract, the company will cover the general maintenance of the space, such as lighting, building installations, acoustic treatment, audio and video systems, air conditioning, landscaping, among others. The modernization of offices, restaurants, generator and transformer rooms is also part of the scope. The concessionaire will have a grace period of 30 months without paying rent to carry out the works.

The concession for the Cine Vídeo Center was granted by the Infrastructure Department and RioFilme. The restructuring of the site is one of the goals of RioFilme's Audiovisual Recovery plan, which aims to strengthen the production and exhibition environment in the city.
