The Municipal Secretariat of Integrity and Transparency (SMIT) published on Tuesday (March 3rd) a resolution establishing the Reception Guide for the Investigation of Harassment within the scope of the Municipal Public Administration of Rio de Janeiro (Resolution “N” nº 23). The initiative strengthens the municipality's integrity policy and establishes standardized guidelines to ensure humane reception, qualified listening, security, confidentiality, and respectful treatment of victims of moral and sexual harassment during investigation procedures.

This measure is aligned with the Rio de Janeiro Program for the Promotion of Public Integrity, the Public Agent Integrity Code, and Federal Law No. 14.540/2023. It recognizes that moral and sexual harassment disproportionately impacts socially vulnerable groups, reinforcing the City Hall's commitment to promoting a safe, ethical, and discrimination-free work environment.

The guide will become mandatory for all bodies and entities responsible for investigating harassment complaints at the municipal level and is available at [website address]. SMIT website.
