IPP is chosen to lead the Southeast region among Brazilian planning institutes
Published on 07/08/2023 - 16:59 | UpdatedThe Pereira Passos Institute (IPP), part of the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, was elected to the regional leadership of INREDE, the Brazilian Network of Planning Institutes, the first of its kind in the country. The organization aims to exchange experiences and information to train and enhance the development of public policies in municipalities.
About to turn 25, the Rio de Janeiro institute was elected vice-president of the Southeast region, a recognition of the institution's history and its relevance as a reference center for data and knowledge about Rio. The IPP will work as an ambassador for the network in the region, supporting IPLANFOR – the Planning Institute of the city of Fortaleza, which was elected president of the network.
The election took place on Friday (4/8), during the fifth meeting of INREDE, held in the city of Redenção, in Pará. On that occasion, the network gained its institutional status, electing its first executive board. The initiative was supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), by the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) and had the participation of the Ministry of Cities.
