Providência Youth House opens its doors to 290 places in free workshops during the summer holidays

The Special Secretariat for Rio de Janeiro Youth (JUVRio) has prepared a free program for the beginning of 2023 aimed at the public aged 15 to 29 who live in the Santo Cristo region, in the city center. The Casa da Juventude da Providência has 290 vacancies open for classes, workshops, and championships throughout the first two months of the new year. Opened in November, with an investment of R$5 million from the City of Rio, this is the third public facility of JUVRio delivered to the population in less than two years. The place periodically offers training and personal and professional guidance in several areas, such as technology, food and beverages, tourism, and beauty.

During the school holidays, the first Casa da Juventude Video Game Championship will be held on January 12th and 13th, from 9am to 18pm. There will also be a Jiu Jitsu Championship on the 28th of the same month, from 10am to 18pm. To watch the events, just go to Casa da Juventude da Providência.

There will also be a braiding workshop on the 13th, from 10 am to 13 pm. Those who want to learn more about graphic design online can take part in a Canva app class on the 16th, from 10 am to 12 pm. The 19th will be dedicated to Event Production, from 15 pm to 17 pm. On the 18th and 20th, there will be a Massage Therapy and Sustainability workshop, respectively. Young people will also be able to learn how to fly a professional drone in a class that will take place in January.

Registration is not required to participate in the Casa da Juventude da Providência holiday activities. The form for other regular training sessions is available on the Secretariat's social media at www.instagram.com/juvrio. The Casa da Juventude will remain open for visits and in-person registration.
