Epicentro Summit: suburban entrepreneurship initiative will have an event to teach how to leverage creative businesses
Published on 12/04/2023 - 10:40 | UpdatedMadureira and Oswaldo Cruz will host a meeting of inventive minds on Friday and Saturday (April 14-15) in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro. Epicentro, a multiplatform project to expand creative businesses in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro created by Duto, with sponsorship from the Special Secretariat for Youth (JUVRio), will host the Summit. This is a conference that seeks to teach entrepreneurs about business and discuss proposals for the development of the region's creative ecosystem.
The event, a partnership between Sebrae and the Integrated Center for Studies and Programs for Sustainable Development (Cieds), will take place from 14:19 p.m. to 450:XNUMX p.m. in two locations: Palácio Rio XNUMX, in Oswaldo Cruz, and Duto Roof, in Madureira. All activities will be free of charge. For the special secretary for Youth in Rio, Salvino Oliveira, the Epicentro Summit will be an opportunity to foster ideas among young people from Rio.
– This event is a catalyst for the development of new technologies and solutions for the suburbs, providing a space for the city’s brightest minds to connect and collaborate in search of practical solutions to real problems – said Salvino Oliveira.
The organizers hope to empower entrepreneurs, students, researchers and anyone interested in acquiring knowledge about formalizing work, planning the structuring and development of music businesses, assertive tools for selling ideas and projects, and the power of digital content to boost small businesses. The event will also provide opportunities to answer questions about the use of MEI and many other topics.
– The Summit is an extremely important event to reveal and present to the world the creative and economic potential of Madureira and the entire North Zone of Rio. A cradle of cultural wealth and recognized talents, Madureira is experiencing a cultural renaissance, with creative businesses, which are worth following closely – explains Vandré Brilhante, director of Cieds.
Speakers
In order to provide an environment that fosters the development of the creative economy and businesses with socioeconomic impact, the event selected prominent names for the panels and workshops. Some of them are Cris Falcão, an economist from Mackenzie University with an MBA in Marketing from ESPM; Flávia Tendler, a lawyer specializing in Copyright & Entertainment; and Thiago Hideki, who has a degree in Digital Marketing and Music Business from Berklee College of Music. The three will share their expertise on structuring and developing businesses in the music market with the audience.
Carolyne Gomes, coordinator of Creative Economy at Sebrae Rio, emphasizes that entrepreneurs often do not focus on managing their business. And this becomes a problem in the long term.
– An event in this sector supports and values cultural entrepreneurs. Those who undertake creative activities often do not prioritize business management. Our expertise will contribute to the development and maturity of these entrepreneurs so that they can have creative and sustainable businesses – he explains.
– The intention is to provoke an intersection of multiple interests, through the formation of a representative bloc that demands strategic agendas for the public authorities, media and private initiative. Aligning a strategic discourse as a sector, which improves the possibilities of development and monetization of projects, events and businesses in the region, in addition to better institutional representation – concludes Marcello Dughettu.
