Canal recovery and desilting works begin in Guaratiba

The works will benefit 15 thousand residents of Guaratiba - Ricardo Cassiano/City of Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes went to Guaratiba on Tuesday (22/06) to monitor the start of the works to restore the gallery and desilt Canal Dois. The initiative is from the Department of the Environment and the Rio-Águas Foundation, in partnership with the West Zone Subprefecture.
With an estimated completion date of three months, the works will cost around R$1 million and will be carried out by the company Zona Oeste Mais Saneamento. The cleaning of 3 km of the Canal Dois will be carried out, in addition to the channeling of 38 m of Canal Dois. The service will serve a population of 15 thousand people, from the localities of Jardim Garrido, Vilamar de Guaratiba, Canal Dois and Piraquê. The works will be supervised and monitored by Rio-Águas.
