The enrollment process for the municipal education network begins at the end of the month Archive/City Hall of Rio The Rio Municipal Department of Education will open registrations for candidates for daycare places in the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Education Network on Tuesday, January 5, starting at 1 am. Registrations will only be accepted online, at the electronic address www.matricula.rio. Students who already study in the city's school units, including daycare centers and Child Development Centers (EDI), and do not wish to transfer, will have their enrollment automatically renewed with a guaranteed place and do not need to access the website. Children aged 6 months to 3 years and 11 months study in daycare centers.
During this same period, it will also be possible to transfer children already being cared for in the Daycare Centers/EDIs of the City of Rio to another unit of the Municipal Network.
How to register
To register, parents and guardians must access the website and click on “Register” and select the candidate’s origin: they study or have studied at a school/daycare/EDI in the Municipal Network or have never studied at a unit of the Rio City Hall, for example.
The guardian may select at least one and a maximum of five school units of their preference. If they need to prove any qualifying criteria that were indicated at the time of registration, the guardian must appear when called by the daycare management to submit the documents and confirm the documents relevant to the priority they claim to have.
If you do not submit it, your registration will be invalidated and you will have to register again.
During this period, the person responsible who wishes to transfer registration between daycare centers must access the website www.matricula.rio and indicate the neighborhood in which you want the vacancy and the group it belongs to (Nursery or Kindergarten). The website will direct you to where, in the neighborhood, there is an available vacancy. Thus, the child occupies this chosen vacancy and the vacancy previously occupied by the child is freed up.
For transfer registrations, proof of qualifying criteria is not required. When completing the form, you must print, write down or photograph the registration number generated by the website. This number will be used to identify which daycare center/EDI the place was reserved for. The query to obtain the place must be made at the electronic address www.matricula.rio on the date indicated on the registration receipt. The website will indicate the day on which the person responsible must appear at the Nursery or EDI to confirm the registration.
Classification criteria for admission to municipal daycare centers
Several classification criteria influence the priority of places for future students at City Hall daycare centers, such as children whose family is a beneficiary of Bolsa Família; children with disabilities; children and/or family members in their daily lives who are victims of domestic violence; children and/or someone with nutritional deficiencies or children or people in the family nucleus who suffer from serious chronic diseases; children with someone in the family nucleus who is a prisoner or ex-convict in the last 5 years; children have parents or guardians with disabilities, among others, according to municipal legislation.
Enrollment Calendar for the 2021 Academic Year:
18/21 to 12/2020/XNUMX – Special Education – students aged 4 and over with disabilities.
05 to 10/01/2021 – Nursery – children from 6 months to 3 years and 11 months.
08 to 13/01/2021 – Preschool/Elementary School and EJA (internal transfer) – students from 4 years onwards.
19 to 24/01/2021 – Preschool/Elementary School and EJA (new students) – students aged 4 and over.
