The City of Rio, through the Special Secretariat for Tourism and Olympic Legacy, announces the adhesion of Confeitaria Colombo to the Rediscover Rio movement, launched just over a week ago and which reopened tourism in Rio de Janeiro, in an unprecedented partnership between the city's main attractions and the government. The hashtag #REDESCUBRAORIO has been spreading on social media, with the aim of promoting the tourism production chain in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

MUNICIPAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT UPDATES NUMBER OF COVID-19 BEDS AND OCCUPANCY RATE IN THE CAPITAL'S SUS NETWORK
The Municipal Health Department reports that the municipal network has 881 beds for Covid-19. Of this total, 251 are ICU beds. The number of specialized beds in the network is greater than the demand for hospitalizations for treatment of the disease.
The occupancy rate of ICU beds for Covid-19 in the SUS network – which includes beds in municipal, state and federal units – in the municipality is 69%. The occupancy rate in ward beds is 54%.

PAYMENT OF ANOTHER BATCH OF BENEFITS FOR MUNICIPAL SERVANTS
The Rio City Hall, through the Municipal Pension and Assistance Institute (Previ-Rio), will deposit another batch of benefits this Thursday (27/08).
2824 credits will be paid in Childcare Assistance, totaling R$763.694,32; 63 credits in Birth Assistance, totaling R$26.427,87; and seven Education Assistance credits, totaling R$2.936,43.
Welfare benefits for active employees, pensioners and retirees can be requested on the Institute's website (http://previ.rio).

RESCUING DOGS AND CATS THAT WERE SUFFERING ABUSE IN THE NORTH AREA
The Subsecretariat of Animal Welfare (SUBEM) rescued 26 cats, five of which were kittens, and three dogs from a house in Brás de Pina, in the North Zone, on Wednesday (08/19). They were living in closed shopping carts or locked in cupboards in the backyard and the dogs were chained up.
The complaint was made through the City Council's Animal Rights Committee and the 1746 hotline. The rescued animals were taken to the Fazenda Modelo Animal Protection Center, where they are receiving medical care and will then be available for adoption.

RAFAEL MASCARENHAS DE MORAIS AND ZUZU ANGEL ACOUSTIC TUNNELS WILL CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT (26/08) FOR MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
The Rio City Hall, through CET-Rio, will close this Wednesday (26/08), from 23:50 pm until 4:30 am on Thursday (27), the Zuzu Angel and Acústico Rafael Mascarenhas de Morais tunnels, in the direction of São Conrado, for maintenance and cleaning.
Vehicles leaving Gávea towards São Conrado should follow Avenida Niemeyer, which will be operating normally. CET-Rio agents will be on site to guide drivers.
OPERATION IS MOUNTED AGAINST IRREGULAR CAR WASH IN BENFICA FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN A ROW
The Municipal Department of Public Order (Seop) set up an operation against illegal car washes in Benfica, in the city's central area, for the second consecutive week on Wednesday, 26/08. In today's operation alone, 21 points of water theft (six connections) and electricity theft (15) were identified, totaling 24 "cuts" with those from last week.

CLOSURE OF THE VICE-PRESIDENT JOSÉ DE ALENCAR TUNNEL THIS THURSDAY (27/08)
The Rio City Hall, through CET-Rio, will execute this Thursday (27/08) the total closure of the Vice-Presidente José de Alencar Tunnel, towards Recreio, from 23 pm to 04 am.
The closure aims to enable maintenance and conservation services for the drainage galleries and cleaning of the tunnel walls.

CLOSURE OF SECTION OF AVENIDA BRASIL FOR BRT WORKS
The City of Rio, through CET-Rio, informs that this Thursday (27/08) and Friday (28/08) the concreting services will be carried out on the new footbridge on Av. Brasil, in Ramos. To make the Transbrasil procedure viable, it will be necessary to close Av. Brasil, at Footbridge 10, as follows:
COMLURB PROMOTES MORE SPECIAL CLEANING OPERATIONS IN COMMUNITIES
Comlurb carried out more special sanitation operations this Wednesday (26/08) in several communities in the city. The initiative, which began in Rocinha on 9/4 and aims to reduce the risk of contamination by the new coronavirus, has already been extended to all 633 communities in the city. The cleaning is done with recycled water and neutral detergent, and hypochlorite in the sprayers.
