Rio City Hall offers 8,5 places in free online courses from Naves do Knowledge
The Department of People with Disabilities and Technology (SMDT) is offering 8,5 places on online courses and lectures at Naves do Conhecimento. Although the units in Irajá, Penha, Madureira, Santa Cruz, Vila Aliança and Padre Miguel are open, the courses and lectures continue to be offered online to avoid crowding at the units. Registration is now open, and the courses will begin next Monday, October 5.

Feira do Lavradio is released and takes place again on Saturdays, now in weekly editions
The Municipal Department of Development, Employment and Innovation (SMDEI) has created a strategy for the return of the Lavradio Fair this weekend. The event, a traditional event in the city that attracts thousands of locals and tourists, is an initiative of the Polo Novo Rio Antigo, which is part of the Polos do Rio program, by SMDEI, a municipal public policy for the development of neighborhoods.

Escola.Rio program, on TV Band and TV Escola, will show the exploitation of nature by man
The City of Rio de Janeiro, through a partnership between the Municipal Department of Education and MultiRio, is launching new content this week in the Escola.Rio program to help students learn at home. The video classes that will be broadcast on open TV channels Bandeirantes and TV Escola will focus on planet Earth – its natural conditions and the effects of human occupation. Students in the final years of Elementary School will receive this knowledge transmitted by both Science and Geography teachers. Without forgetting Portuguese, Math, History, Arts, Music and Physical Education classes, which also make up the curriculum.

Municipality inspects critical area of irregular waste disposal in Bangu
Comlurb carried out an inspection and cleaning operation this morning (October 02) on a vacant lot that was being used for the illegal disposal of waste on Rua Limadores and Rua da Feira, in Bangu, West Zone of the city. The location is mainly occupied by illegal cart drivers. The action carried out by the Zero Waste Program team had the support of the Municipal Guard and the Military Police.

Municipal Health Department updates number of beds for Covid-19 and occupancy rate in the capital's SUS network
The Municipal Health Department reports that the municipal network is currently carrying out the absolute majority of Covid-19 care, as state and private hospitals have closed beds dedicated to treating the disease.
It is also important to highlight that the City of Rio is the only one that maintains a field hospital – the one at Riocentro – in operation, since units from other spheres did not even reach full operation – and that, recently, private partnerships with the government of the State of Rio demobilized field hospitals.

The Rio City Hall held a meeting last Wednesday, September 30, 09, to discuss issues related to the 2020 Homeless Population Census. The meeting, which was attended by representatives from the Municipal Secretariat for Social Assistance and Human Rights (SMASDH), the Strategic Council of the City of Rio de Janeiro and the Pereira Passos Institute (IPP), defined points about the methodology to be used and the script used in the application of the survey.

CET-Rio closes Av. Brasil
CET-Rio informs that starting Monday (05/10) Av. Brasil will be partially closed to facilitate Transbrasil services. No impact on traffic is expected, as the interventions will occur in the direction of the road with less traffic or during the night.

Comlurb promoted more special cleaning operations in communities
Comlurb carried out more special sanitation operations this Friday (02/10) in several communities in the city. The initiative, which began in Rocinha on 9/4 and aims to reduce the risk of contamination by the new coronavirus, has already been extended to all 633 communities in the city. The cleaning is done with recycled water and neutral detergent, and hypochlorite in the sprayers.
