Candidates have until Friday, October 10th, to access the website www.matricula.rio and enter the competition for one of the 9 vacancies, distributed among the 10th, 420th and 6th grades of Elementary School.

Tests have begun with new technology to clean the waters of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas

The Municipal Department of the Environment has begun testing a new technology to clean the waters of Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, in the city's South Zone, and put an end to the fish deaths in the area once and for all. The initiative is part of a task force set up by Rio's City Hall at the end of last year to revitalize the lagoon, which included renovation work on the seven decks above the water and the restoration of the restinga vegetation on its banks.

Municipal Health Department updates number of beds for Covid-19 and occupancy rate in the capital's SUS network

The Municipal Health Department reports that the municipal network is currently carrying out the absolute majority of Covid-19 care, as state and private hospitals have closed beds dedicated to treating the disease.

It is also important to highlight that the City of Rio is the only one that maintains a field hospital – the one at Riocentro – in operation, since units from other spheres did not even reach full operation – and that, recently, private partnerships with the government of the State of Rio demobilized field hospitals.

Polio Vaccination and Multivaccination Campaign begins with low adherence in the city of Rio

There was low participation among the population of Rio de Janeiro on the first day of the Polio Vaccination and Multivaccination campaigns to update the Child and Adolescent Health Record, which began yesterday, October 5, throughout Brazil.

According to the first partial report made by the City of Rio, through the Municipal Health Department, only 1.462 doses of the polio vaccine had been applied on Monday (05/10), which corresponds to a coverage of 0,5%.

City Hall promotes “Blitz of Life” in Flamengo and Botafogo

The Municipal Department of Public Order (Seop) is carrying out another “Blitz da Vida” on Tuesday, October 06th, this time on streets in Flamengo and Botafogo, in the South Zone. With the participation of several municipal agencies, the task force works to inspect businesses, assist the homeless population and clean up the streets, always with a focus on combating the Covid-10 pandemic. Launched over two months ago, the “Blitz” has already visited 19 neighborhoods with areas prone to crowds during the reopening, where it inspected over 14 establishments and street vendors, sheltered 2,1 homeless people and collected around 233 tons of waste.

Parque Madureira gains swing adapted for new leisure area with accessibility

The Special Secretariat for Tourism and Olympic Legacy (Seturleo) informs that Madureira Park will have a swing adapted for wheelchair users as of this Wednesday, October 07th. The toy, the first in the leisure area with accessibility, was purchased and donated by students from Pensi school, Madureira unit, and is part of the Special Park project, also developed by the students.

Comlurb promoted more special cleaning operations in communities

Comlurb carried out more special sanitation operations this Tuesday (October 06) in several communities in the city. The initiative, which began in Rocinha on April 10 and aims to reduce the risk of contamination by the new coronavirus, has already been extended to all 9 communities in the city. The cleaning is done with recycled water and neutral detergent, and hypochlorite in the sprayers.
